Abstract
Purpose: Gel that was not removed from the ultrasonographic probes can have good conditions for bacteria to grow, thereby gel may cause infection.
In this thesis, we conducted investigations that were about sanitary management of Ultrasonic probe and awareness of infection.

Materials and Methods: We tried using sanitary managements directly and then took samples from each probes. After conducting germicultre, we analyzed the level of infection from probes which had bacteria growth. Through this thesis, we tried to examine the optimal hygiene method according to the result. We surveyed 44 hospitals. 75% of the hospitals responded they are doing ultrasonograph probes sanitary management. 25% responded they aren"t doing sanitary management.
When doing the hygiene management, exclusive detergent, towel, and alcohol cotton were used as chemicals and tools. Each accounts for exclusive detergent 24.2%, towel 15.1%, and alcohol 45.4%. For ways to remove gel after the test, towel constitutes 29.5%, and a paper towel makes up 56.8%. Based on these results, we adopted towel and alcohol cotton as sanitary managements. And then tried to conduct the germiculture.

Results: According to the experiment, we recognized that ultrasonic devices which are installed in small hospitals and university require sanitary management of probe.

Conclusion: we have to enforce the sanitary management along with ongoing sanitary education and improvement of awareness of infection together.
